Open The Book

Open the Book has been running for more than six years now. We are a team of storytellers who go into Longridge C of E Primary School every other Wednesday morning. We dress up and act out Bible stories for the whole school, during assembly. On the Wednesday mornings that we don’t perform, we rehearse for the following week, straight after Brewtime at St. Paul’s. 

Not only is this a fun thing to do, but it also brings Bible stories to life for all our local schoolchildren. This in turn gives them a good understanding of the Christian faith. We can tell by the children’s enthusiasm that they look forward to our visits and love to take part when possible.

We have just completed our storytelling programme, which covers every story in the Lion Children’s Bible. In September we will be starting at the beginning once more, with stories from Genesis. As we once again cover the stories of Creation, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, and Jonah, it will be good to see the reactions of many more children.
